Banner ad templates – in process

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

Since we launched the last version of BannerSnack, banner templates were removed because they didn’t work properly with this version. But we know that templates are very important to you because:

  • with very little effort you can have a professional banner ad. Just need to put your company name or logo and perhaps change the message a little or put your photos instead of the default.
  • they are a great inspiration source. Starting from the templates that we’ve made for you, you can create a very different banner, by easily editing the template’s contents and parameters. It’s always harder to start from zero…

Knowing that banner templates can be a big help for you, we are working to make new ones. Like with the templates made for the previous version, the new ones are also organized by industry (Auto, B2B, Consumer Goods, Education, Food, Travel and many many more).

We also made interactive banner ads that will help you draw more attention and engage with your audience in a new and interesting way. In this type of banners, you can add interactive buttons and multiple links, allowing you to create banners that are much more flexible, interactive and fun.

Before I end this exciting announcement, let me share with you an interactive banner template, from the Customer Goods category. If you want to see more interactive ads made with BannerSnack, click here.

So in just a few weeks you’ll have dozens of new banner templates that you can customize and use to promote your business.

Friday, May 7th, 2010

Hi there, how are you? It’s Mother’s Day this weekend and we’ve created four gorgeous eCards with lovely messages. Below I published one of them,  to see them all click here.

If you want to personalize the one that you like, follow these instructions:

1. Open the BannerSnack banner maker and log in or sign up.
2. On the “Templates” tab search for the term “mother”.
3. Choose one of the cards and hit “Edit” to customize.
4. When you’re done, hit “Publish” to get a permanent link that you can send to your mom.

You can also send it as it is or publish the eCard on your blog.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Best 5 sites to get color inspiration

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

Need a little color inspiration for your design projects? Or perhaps to get ideas on how to paint the room. There are a lot of websites that can help you create an awesome color palette, but from what we’ve seen, we recommend these 5 websites.

1. Colourlovers was made to inspire web designers, people fascinated by home decoration or fashion, wedding invitation designers and event decorators. In other words color enthusiasts. Filled with thousands of color pallets and patterns, the site is an endless resource of inspiration.

You can browse through the great variety of color suggestions, create new ones and discuss the latest trends with a vibrant community of people. You can also create a nice background for your Twitter page in just a few minutes, check out the application here.

2. Kuler is the spot you have to go if you need color combinations. Developed by Adobe, Kuler is an application for generating color schemes for any project you can imagine. There are thousands of themes already created by members and you can browse through them using the tags that members associated with their palette.

If you want to create a new theme, you can start from a color or from an image. It’s the kind of tool that you can play with for hours.

3. Color Combos was build to help web developers quickly select and test website color combinations. They offer tools to see how different color palettes would look on the screen and a library where users share their combinations for some inspiration.

If you have some favorite websites that look nice, just grab the url and let ColorCombos suggest some colors from those sites. Or you can just browse different categories like aqua, lemon, green, peach and others to find a color scheme.

4. Toucan is a little more sophisticated tool, compared to the others in this list. Developed by Aviary, it was made to encourage you to create and play with color pallets. You can increase up to 20 or go down to only 3 colors in your scheme and you can customize it in many many ways. The possibilities are endless.

Aviary released several more online tools, among which an image editor and an effects editor, so the palette created with Toucan can be imported and used in these tools. I think that’s a great plus for Toucan users.

5. Colorhunter is a very simple tool that lets you create colorful schemes from your images. All you have to do is browse a photo from your computer or insert a URL.

Tuesday is for photos: Mustache

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

Hello! Tuesday is here and it’s time to post some new photos. Mustache is the word for this Tuesday. I just think it’s funny and noticed that lately fake mustaches are a trend on the internet. Don’t you think the photos are full of joy?

Template name: Pixelate wipe (paid template), size: 500 x 400 px. See the same photo slide show as a portfolio, in bigger size and with a neutral background (you can change background color).
