A slideshow in scarlet

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Hi and welcome to a new week here on SnackTools Blog. How was your weekend? I had a great one. And now I’m back with a new photo slideshow. I won’t tell you details about it or why I picked this theme, just let you enjoy it and share it if you’d like.

I used Pixelate Wipe as my template (it is a premium template) and the same size I use with every slideshow I post on this blog 500 x 400px.

Wish you a beautiful day!

Friday links #12

Friday, June 25th, 2010

Hi, here we are in front of a great weekend … this is how I think it will be. Any plans for the next two days?

Before I end this week, let me note dawn what I found worth telling you. As a beginner in blogging I’m very interested in reading how experienced bloggers build their way. If you too are writing a company blog or your personal blog, finding a voice to express your ideas is very important. This is why I recommend this article, posted on Copyblogger, a popular blog I’m sure you’ve heard about.

Do you sell online? Do you use photos in order to do that? If so, here’s something you will like, published by one of the biggest blogs on design and development, SmashingMagazine, How to use photos to sell more.  “Tell a story” was the part that draw my attention, I believe that people need, well I should say… people love stories, to see that there is more than a product or a service. It helps them connect, get closer to what you sell and see more details. I found the tips very useful!

A little inspiration for the web designers out there (but not only for them), warm versus cool website designs. Have you found something that you like a lot?

Banner ads are part of what we do, is where we started with the first application, our banner maker. Perhaps this is why the blog post said something to me Banner ads: excellent examples for inspiration – “a showcase of different ways that a few websites show their ads, which might be helpful when it’s time to place banner ads on your site”.

Hope  you had a beautiful week and you’re preparing for an awesome weekend.

Summer photos to dream of

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

Since it’s Tuesday, it’s my duty to post a new collection of photos, this time summer photos. I just love this season, don’t you? So much color, the days are longer so you can do a lot of things and it’s the time for great holidays in beautiful places.

I used PhotoSnack to create this slide show, picked Scale Chain as my template and 500 x 400 px size. You can see where I found the photos from the links inside the slideshow.

Hope you’ll like it and hope it will bring a little smile on your face today.

Enjoy the weather and have fun!

Friday links #11

Friday, June 11th, 2010

Hi there great guys ! How was your week? Here, at SnackTools it was sunny and busy, working hard and having fun.

OK, it’s time to post my links for this week. Here‘s an interesting way to advertise your brand: make a banner ad that ca be fed live with tweets from your clients so that people can see what other people think about you. Toyota was the first to have this brilliant idea.

Do you like handwritten fonts? I do… so this collection of 60 free script fonts for your design projects is one of the things that drew my attention this week. Hope you’ll like it too. Plenty of fonts to choose from.

Thinking about starting a new business? Do you have a great name for it? ‘Cause I found a great article on Mashable that could help you naming your startup.

PS: PhotoSnack’s product manager celebrated his bday this week. Happy Birthday again!

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Back with a new post from the “Tuesday is for photos” collection. I hope you will find the chosen theme interesting.

You should view this photo slideshow in full-screen, it looks great. I used Simple fade (premium template) and the same size I made the others slideshows (500x400px).

For image credits, check out the links posted inside the slideshow. Did you know that you can add links for each uploaded photo? See how you can do that here.

Till next time wish you a lovely time, enjoy the summer!

Do you remember the logo redesign contest? We are happy to announce you that we have a winner, a talented guy that submitted the logos below. It wasn’t easy to choose because there were a lot of nice ideas. But on Friday, we chose the logos that were the closest to what we wish for our products:

What do you think about the new SnackTools logos?
