Writing a message on a banner can be more difficult than sending an e-mail or a press release. Behind a simple and clear message you have to choose a font to match. This can be tricky. Nobody wants to read a long text, so the letters should be friendly. There are a few do’s and don’t for the fonts in banner ads.
Best fonts to use in banners
Arial is the most common font to use in banners. It is plain and easy to read. But if you gave a long text it’s not the right font for you.
Impact is a bold lettering font similar to Arial, but narrower left to right. Instead Impact allows you to add more text just as easy to read.
The Ballon font gives a party feeling. The playful look and the bold letters makes this font fit for children banners or celebration.
Times New Roman is for less important parts of the text. Highlight the heading and continue the text with this font to drive the attention to the title.
Worst fonts to use in banners
Comis Sansis regarded as a childish font. It is great for children and kindergarten, but it should be avoided in business advertising as it can suggest lack of professionalism.
Script fonts include a large range of fonts with a cursive handwriting appearance. These fonts simply look oldish and should be avoided at all cost as they are hard to read. You want people to recognize your company name, not to bearly be able to read it.
Creative use of fonts in banners
Here are some peculiar ways in which typography is the main element in banner ads:

Did you ever think about how logos are created? Where do all the ideas come from and how a simple icon can represent an entire brand? There is a lot of work behind a logo design to make a brand stand out.
The creativity of Guillaum Baret led to a suprising mixture of logos that were transformed into a totally different one.
The Wikipedia logo is illustrated as a mixture between the Star Wars logo and a puzzle. A pretty funny approach to the formal Wikipedia website. Supermarket food and blue paint? Not quite appealing but designers illustrated Twitter in such a manner as the Auchan bird was reinvented into the popular social networking icon. Well..it’s all about imagination.

Just came across an article on how to increase your sales Want More Sales? Go Talk To 5 People. It is simple in theory but somehaw hard to put it in practice because few person do this. Here is an excerpt from it
Go find 5 people
You need to go find 5 people that you believe are interested in your product and show them your website. And you need to ask them:
If you were searching on Google and came across my site would you spend much time on it? Would you immediately hit the back button?
Does my site help you find what you’re looking for?
How can I improve my site?
Would you buy my product from my site?
Would you come back to my site in the future?
Would you tell your friends about my website?
PS Your mom not included.
Conclusion, ask for feedback, value it and do something to make things better.
As a small business owner where do you start with your internet marketing campaign? Perhaps you feel like a grain of sand plunging in deep waters … internet is big business, don’t you think? But the most important thing is to START. It’s not easy, I know, it’s a challenge but the sooner the better because you will have time to make mistakes and learn from them, to improve your skills, your writing, you will have time to meet people in your business that can help.
I warmly recommend you 3 articles to serve as an inspiration, as a starting point or to learn something.
I think this is one the hardest things, it requires discipline, establishing priorities and focusing on what matters. We all waste time … reading news that do not matter to our job or business, jumping from one task to another without finishing them, browsing the internet without a purpose, doing things unrelated to our field. And hours are passing bye …
You can find more time for your project, it’s right in front you, can’t you see it? In your own busy schedule, just open your eyes.
The first step is to acknowledge that you can do better. Then say “Stop, I don’t want to waste my time anymore”. Analyze what you do in a day and make an effort to cut down unnecessary things. Do this day after day and in time it will become a habit.
When reading this it all seams simple. Actually it’s incredibly difficult.
Procrastination. Have you ever been in this situation?
A wise man (Don Marquis) once said – “Procrastination is the art of keeping up with yesterday”
Hmm Procrastination.. it’s like saying things such as…
“Sure thing! I’ll do it soon”
“I really need to do that thing i said i would do, tomorrow”
or.. ”I’ve still got a lot of time. Lets get Rachel and go play some racquetball”
The key words here are.. “Soon”, “tomorrow”, “really need to” and “racquetball” (simply because everyone likes a good game of racquetball!).
Another (unknown) wise man said – “Procrastination is something best put off until tomorrow”
So from this we can presume that the art of procrastinating is putting off a task or a duty purely out of habit or laziness. Procrastination is about choosing the easy, less-important task over the hard, urgent task because in our heads we tell ourselves both of these things need to be done anyway…
Procrastination can make people do strange things. When I procrastinate (yes, it happens to the best of us) I drink way to much coffee and watch way to many Rebecca Black parody YouTube videos!
I recently read an article which looks at procrastination from a different angle. It goes something like this - “Procrastination is fueled by weakness in the face of impulse and a failure to think about thinking”.
So, the author believes that you procrastinate because you make decisions in the present; impulsive, quick decisions that are more important to your immediate future. And you don’t consciously think about the decisions you make.
If offered a piece of chocolate cake or a carrot stick right now you would choose the cake; however, if some one asked you if you would rather eat cake or a carrot stick one week from now you would probably choose the hard orange stick, which is a sad excuse for rabbit food. We do this because we like to plan to live a healthy and for filling life style, but when it comes down to it, you just want that effing piece of cake! Procrastination is all about choosing want over should because you don’t have a plan for those times when you can expect to be tempted.
Procrastination can be a barrier to the success of your company or employees. it can be the factor that makes or breaks your performance in the market place. It happens to everyone sooner or later, you just need to realize what you’re doing and consciously consider your actions every step of the way.
I believe that procrastination occurs in all aspects of life, not just work. The fact that you didn’t tell Mary-Anne that you had a huge crush on her in the fourth grade or the reason why you didn’t finish filling out your application for class president are forms of procrastination. Using fear as an excuse is one of life’s most common causes of procrastination.
It is so easy to think “I have all the time in the world and i need more time to think it over, i’ll do it tomorrow”. When in reality you have thought it over to death. Tomorrow rolls around and the following day is looking more attractive… What you want now and what you want for the future are totally different things. Ultimately your present-self makes the final decisions.
Putting these theories aside, procrastination still exists. So how do we prevent it?
The simple answer could be to drop dead.
But this would be taking the easy way out.
What you need to do is acknowledge why you don’t want to for fill the task. Is it too hard? Are you scared? or do you find it boring?
Now you need to give the task a tangible deadline; even if it is unnecessary. It needs to be completed, so set a timeline.
Next, make a list and categorize it from most important to least important. Tick the list off one by one, breaking it down.
And then focus your brain on the big picture and start to “think about thinking”.
Why do you procrastinate? Break this habit by putting aside your immediate wants.
To create a new habit you need to repeat something for a consecutive 14 days. If you find yourself putting off more important tasks for mundane stocking fillers, stop! I challenge you to use the next 14 days for good, not evil…
I was a little evil writing such a LONG article, and i apologize for that. But, maybe you didn’t even read this far because you started procrastinating. Or maybe you got all the way to the end because you were reading this article as a form of procrastination.
WOW i just created a paradox.
Here’s a little something we have created here at SnackTools.
