How to embed flash content in WordPress blogs

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

It’s known that WordPress won’t allow users to post flash content on their platform, unless they host their blogs elsewhere. However, there are a few exceptions; WordPress allows you to post *some* flash content, things like YouTube or DailyMotion videos.

What I’ve discovered is that WordPress allows you to post many other kinds of flash content on your blog.wordpress.com blog, including SnackTools widgets like banners and music playlists. You only need Gigya.

Now, there are two approaches, both very simple:

Create custom music players with PODSnack!

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Very excited to tell you a good news. We just launched another SnackTools product called PODSnack, a web application that allows you to create custom flash audio players for your website.

As all the other products we have build, the music player is very easy to use. Just upload your tracks in MP3 format, choose a player, customize it, and then publish it. Similar to what you do in PhotoSnack.

These two music playlists were made using PODSnack:

1) Audio player with playlist

you can share this playlist using this link

2) Progress bar player

you can share this playlist using this link

Do you like them? Check out the examples to see more templates and which might be perfect for your website.

Let us know what you think about it. Your opinions are extremely valuable to us.

See you on podsnack.com!

Are you a true photoshoper?

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Dear web designers, we made something for you … a 10 question quiz to test how great you are at using the magic tool called Photoshop.

Besides the fact that your friends will see how great a photoshopper you are (which is good for your ego), you’ll receive a BannerSnack license, depending on how many questions you answer correctly.  Answer 5 questions and we will send you an 5 months license to make lots of banner ads for your website and your nice customers, answer 8 and we will send you 8, etc.

PS: We already know you’re great, but it’s fun to take interesting tests and win something that can extend your skills, right?

Take the quiz! Have fun!

Working on a new product

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

We are going to launch a new product soon. The SnackTools family is growing and we’re very excited about it… so excited that we can’t keep the good news only for ourselves anymore.

But we don’t want to spoil the surprise, so we’ll give you only one clue about our new product: it has something to do with audio files.

Stay tuned to find out first when the new tool will be live… ’till then we’ll be working hard to bring a great application.

More than one year ago we released an application that anyone can use to make flash banners, without knowing Flash or having any programming skills. But not all users that need a banner want  to make it from scratch, all by themselves. And for various reasons – they’re experts in other fields, they don’t have the time, and so on.

For them we came with the idea of offering an additional service: custom banner design. In other words you can now hire our experienced designers to design and animate your banners.

The idea is very simple: you order a banner, with all the details we need (including messages and images featured in your banner) and after 2 business days we’ll get back to you with the finished banner ad.

You can choose from animated flash banners or interactive flash banners, starting at $149.

If this sounds interesting to you, go to Custom Flash Banner Design page and read more about the subject.
