How to market with Facebook

August 2nd, 2012

Some say “if you’re not on Facebook you don’t exist” and those who aren’t on Facebook get annoyed. All I say is: Facebook is really important. It’s big and famous, and it’s the first place people check to see profiles of individuals and organizations.
To make the most of it create a page or advertise with Facebook. Or both.

Make a page
Log in with your personal account. Go to the bottom of the page, click “create a Page”, and start from there.

Upload a nice cover and profile picture (a symbol of your business: logo, product, building, employees). Add details: what you do, adress, link to your webpage (You don’t have a website yet? Make one for free with SnackWebsites). Then start sharing your page.

Update your page. Be active
Don’t keep your Facebook page just for the sake of having it. You can use it to announce news related to your product/service or to inform about trends, opportunities, events in your market.

Make yourself available
Once your page grows, you’ll start getting feedback from your fans. It’s important to treat them well. They are potential or actual customers: answer all their questions, reply to comments, like their stuff.

Post pictures
Photos are more attractive than text, so use them to keep fans longer on your page.

Highlight
The new format of Facebook pages lets you highlight news or photos by clicking on the little star in the up-right corner of the post. A highlighted post will appear bigger (wider) on your timeline.

By the way, check us on Facebook! See you there!
