SnackTools accounts and login problems

July 18th, 2012

You’ve created a flipbook, banner, photo album or something else with SnackTools or bought a VIP membership and now you can’t find it?

The confusion probably starts at login. Here’s what may have happened, and how you can find your missing “snack”.

To log in to Snacktools you have these options:
1. Easy sign in (Facebook, Twitter or Google)
2. Sign in with e-mail

Each one of the logging options creates a different SnackTools account.
If you initially sign in with Facebook, but later on you sign in with Twitter, Google or email, you won’t be able to find the content you’ve created.

Also, if you’re a Premium or VIP user registered with Facebook, you will only have access to the premium features as long as you keep signing in with the same FB account. (I mentioned Facebook as an example, but it’s the same for Twitter, Google and email.)

This problem occurs even if your Facebook, Twitter and Google are based on the same e-mail.
The solution is to remember what account you used to initially sign in, and just keep using the same account and you won’t have any problems.

Why we don’t link all your accounts together

Your Facebook, Twitter and Google accounts probably have different passwords and we are not allowed to share information between these accounts.

Facebook and Twitter are not glued to a single email address. You can change the email associated with Facebook and Twitter as many times as you want. When you’re signing in to SnackTools with Facebook you’re not really providing us your email, but your unique Facebook ID, that may link to one or more different emails over time.

We are aware that this is a problem many users have, and we are trying to find solutions to fix this. In the future we might give you the option to merge all your logins into one account and merge everything you created.

Until then, remember what platform you use to log in!

  2. Jani Says:

You don’t have to change your email to login. Just use the same login method you used the first time you logged in, and everything will work fine.

If I have a site that is members only (they have tolog in through the usual wordpress screen…does notification work? or is it locked out?

    Hello Dave!
I think it should work, even though it’s members only. Check out these links about javascript in WordPress (NotifySnack codes are javascript):

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Javascript

I might write a blog post about this later :)

Antoine, all your download links work perfectly fine. I sent you an email a few days ago, but you haven’t replied yet. Do you still need our help in any way?
